Season 2 Episode 16
Food Systems Planning
maggi adamek

The American food system is complex. Growing a tomato in your front yard may actually be illegal while school children may be forced to eat processed foods made thoudans of miles from town. Maggi Adamek breaks down why planning for food is essential to a healthier population and how our current system influences numerous aspects of our health. From drive-thrus to dragonfruit, this episode is unlike any we have done so far.

THE WHISKeY PAIRING
THE BEE'S KNEES
For this episode we departed from the whiskey pairing and did a cocktail pairing instead. We chose the Bee’s Knees, which uses gin as its base spirit, because of the role bees play in sustaining our food systems. The recipe we used is from the Death & Co. book. Enjoy!

Recipe:
2 oz Gin
3/4 oz Honey Syrup
3/4 oz lemon juice
3 dashed Scrappy’s Lavender Bitters
A classic prohibition cocktail!
