“THOSE people need a place to live too!!!” Affordable housing has been a huge subject in planning circles for the past decade. Shellan Rodriguez is an expert developer of such housing and tells the Commission how planners can help and how they get in the way of such community needs. Shellan Rodriguez is the CEO and Owner of SMR Development. An accomplished problem solver and an effective project manager, Shellan can be nimble working solo or leverage her network of partners to tailor teams of various sizes in taking on projects such as entitling and developing affordable and workforce housing communities, securing financing as well as creating community-oriented Actionable Housing Plans. Shellan likes to work on projects that provide value to the community and her clients. She is a certified PMP and USGBC LEED Green Associate. Shellan recently completed her term serving on the board of the Boise City/Ada County Housing Authority and is an advisory board member of ULI Idaho. She is involved in her local community and served as the Co-Chair of the Housing Transition Team for the current Mayor in Boise, Idaho and was selected to be a member of the Citizens Advisory Zoning Committee in Boise.
